At one time, people who designed and built gardens - often with a wealth of knowledge about what does and does not work - were happy to be called a landscape gardener. However, with the growth of the landscape gardening industry, and sadly the decline in experienced and dedicated landscape gardeners, the landscape sector is split into two. Landscape Gardeners and Garden Designers. Landscape Gardeners, traditionally designed and built gardens - and to a large extent still do. However, Design schools have now 'trained' others to specialise in just garden design. |
The choice is yours. Landscape Gardening is a noble profession, but not always frequented by landscapers worthy of the name.
Be careful before you part with any monies by way of deposit or whatever. SEE the work that your prospective landscaper has done, and make sure that you have a proper written agreement/drawing as to what work is to be done, and how!
